Local barber, thespian, author and entrepreneur Michael Felton shared stories with Rotary in a program on Wednesday, February 15. Michael was born and raised in Arnolds Park but moved away at the age of 17 for 21 years before returning to the area to raise his son. He has been in the barber business for 32 years – his father and grandfather were both barbers. He has been a entrepreneur in the barber business, but also a thespian for over 20 years and an author as he has penned three plays, one of which was produced off Broadway in NYC. Recently Michael also wrote a children’s book called “The Lonely Gray Square.” Michael shared stories of how he has had success in business over the years and attributes success in the lakes area to getting involved in the community. He truly has a passion for this community and says the key to running a business in this community is to open your doors to the community. Those businesses who have not succeeded in his opinion are because they have not been involved in the area and what it has to offer.
