Kevin Farley, Head Soccer Coach for Iowa Lakes Community College, spoke to Rotary on Wednesday, May 12.

The Iowa Lakes Soccer Program began their Men's inaugural season in 2009 and it was a great success, with a 9-10 record.  The Women's team is now geared up to start their first season in fall of 2010.   This program is stationed in Spencer and offers excellent facilities including a brand new grass field, 500 seats, and a professional announcer at every game.

At ILCC, they believe in hard work on and off the field.  Giving their athletes the tools they need to be successful within the classroom is something they take pride in.

Farley has approx 35 men and 25 women joining the team for the '10 season.  These students are from all over the world, including England, Brazil, Maryland, Texas and Alaska.  They also do a lot of local recruiting.  Elizabeth Hoover, a '10 Spirit Lake grad, signed her letter of intent to play with ILCC at our meeting on Wednesday.
