Author Cris Hedgepeth

160 years of Iowa Great Lakes history have been compiled into a beautiful  book by author Cris Hedgepeth.   Cris needed a winter project and an Okoboji neighbor suggested writing  a history book about the lake. Her work  began work in early Octoberr. She finished writing it on March 1st to provide editing and printing time so it was ready by Memorial Day.
"I couldn't have done this without a LOT of help from the community." Stated Cris.  community. "The area would not be what it is today without the community stepping up and taking care of those needs...this included the first DNR boat and their radio system.  I hope everyone will give their time or treasures to this area.  It is what makes the lake area so special"

Cris is contributing all her proceeds of this book, after expenses, to the Okoboji Foundation – paying it forward! Learn more at: http://www.okobojihistory.com/.  Cris is the wife of Rotarian Jim Hedgepeth.
A very heartfelt thanks for enlightening us on this beautiful area we all are blessed to call home!
