Steve Ratzlaff, Spirit Lake High School Principal, spoke to the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary about new technologies and the upcoming PPEL vote at the regular weekly meeting on January 27.
 
Steve spoke to the group about what would happen regarding technology upgrades in the school system if the PPEL passes on Tuesday, February 2. He spoke about how the technology will get the district closer to mandates the state is putting in place through the Iowa Core Curriculum. New technolgy would also include a One-to-One initiative which would mean laptaps for every computer in grades 5-12. It would also include mobile computer carts for the elementary grades and teachers, science handheld devices, special ed technology, digital and video cameras, projectors and whiteboards, mimio and Smart technology and an infrastructure overhaul.
