Outgoing Ambassadorial Scholars Laura Edwards and Maggie Luce spoke to the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary at their regular lunch meeting on Wednesday, June 17. Both students are from Waterloo and will be travelling overseas this fall through the program.
 

Laura Edwards is from Waterloo and will be travelling to the University of Swansea, Wales. She shared her presentation on Iowa and her family that she will give to Rotary clubs in Wales during her year long stay. She is an undergraduate of UNI and is also accepted into the University of Iowa Dentistry School upon her return from Wales. While she is overseas, she plans to study history.

Maggie Luce is from Waterloo and will be studying at the University of Limerick in Ireland. She was a past Rotary Youth Exchange student to Brazil in 2003-2004 and looks forward to representing Rotary from Iowa through the Ambasaadorial Scholarships program. She is an undergraduate from Manhattan College in New York. She will be pursuing a Master's program in International Studies while she is in Ireland.

The Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship program provides graduate or advanced undergraduate study opportunities for outstanding young people to attend for an academic year a college or university in another of the many countries of the world in which there are Rotary clubs. The scholarship provides up to $24,000 for each student selected.
